I had the pleasure of working with Jed Hirsch on the Reginald Johnsondesigned estate of Cuatro Veintos, built in 1929. The project was fast tracked due to time constraints. Demolition, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, tile, paint and plaster crews moved through the house like a whirlwind, with exquisite timing, all the while exercising the necessary extreme care to protect this fine home. The inevitable and frequent change orders were handled quickly and with aplomb. The entire process resembled more a ballet than a construction site, such was the degree of coordination required, and the choreography Mr. Hirsch performed to bring this project in on time and on budget was remarkable, and in my experience unprecedented.

In addition to and synchronous with the tasks performed under his original scope of work, Mr. Hirsch also solved various and diverse problems, such as hanging period wall sconces and light fixtures throughout the home. He approached every new problem or additional task with the same can-do professional attitude, adjusting his crews and schedule effectively and without complaint.

Mr. Hirsch is, frankly, an artist in his knowledge of and respect for the integrity of a home of this caliber. I have never known a contractor with the subtle appreciation and eye for perfect detail of Mr. Jed Hirsch.

I had the privilege of collaborating with Jed Hirsch on the renovation of a primary residence and guest house on the beach in Montecito, CA. I have been an architect for over 30 years and have worked on projects all over the world.

Our firm recently worked with Jed Hirsch.
